The Waiting Game

Our wait continues as Jane has decided to take her sweet time arriving. Obviously, the decision to postpone the start of school until October-ish was a good one. That is one of the nice things about homeschooling: flexibility.

In the meantime, Henry is still working on coloring pages, identifying letters and numbers, practical counting skills, and helping with household chores. We're also taking advantage of some relatively cooler temperatures to get some much needed outside time. An hour or so on a tricycle certainly helps burn off a lot of three year-old boy energy!

Oliver, our 1 1/2 year-old, is beginning to show an awareness of letters around the house. He's been a lot more curious about what Henry is working on and I've found him peering closely at the personalized chairs in the boys' room, tracing the lettering with his fingers. It will be interesting to see how much he'll pick up just from listening and observing Henry's nursery program.
